Feels like the weekend only just began, and I'm back in work already! 'Twas a busy weekend. Friday was Brother Mine's birthday, which involved doing the family thing all evening. And then I had Small for the weekend. She didn't seem wonderfully well Friday night - was all limp and mopey, complained of sore throat and earache, and fell asleep in her supper twice, which is unheard of. But after a good night's sleep she was full of beans all day Saturday, which was lovely and sunny. She had me playing cricket and tennis out the back all day! And I managed to catch the sun for the first time this year. In April. Madness.

In my next door neighbour's garden they have blossom trees, bluebells and rhododendrons all in bloom at the same time, which really is crazy. They are supposed to succeed one another. The weather is so random this year, the plants and trees don't know what to do with themselves.

Anyway, with the bluebells being out so early, on Sunday afternoon we all went up to the Wenallt - a really beautiful area of woodland on the hills just outside the city - to take our annual picture of Small in the bluebells, which is something we've done every year since she had her first birthday, as the bluebells are always in bloom around her birthday. She'll be eleven in two weeks. This is probably the last year we'll do it, though, as she goes up to high school next year and is getting a bit old for the tradition. But it was a really nice afternoon - if a bit knackering, what with the hill being so steep. Beautiful, though. I must remember to post the pictures when they are developed, which probably won't be till next Christmas now...

Oh, and before I forget: birthday wishes for [livejournal.com profile] l23
