Happy Easter
Apr. 5th, 2007 07:51 pmJust held an early Easter at my parents' house, as they are off now for a long weekend visiting Big Sis and Hubby - Mum, Dad, Simon and Small. The main purpose of the visit is so that Deb and Ray can show off their new house, and I would be going with them except that my little Calico cat can't be left alone for that long. The other cat, Chess, would be fine alone in the house for five days, with biscuits and water and someone popping in once or twice to check up on her. But Calico is just too frail. She doesn't go out any more, doesn't always make it to the litter tray, has a habit of randomly using the doormat as an impromptu litter tray, and is a bit sick most days, plus has to take her heart tablets every day. So I'm in my own place tonight, but am going off to stay at the folks' house from tomorrow till Tuesday to cat-sit.
And I've had all these people asking if I'll mind being in the house on my own for five days... Uh, hello? I live alone here in my flat, full time. Madness.
I've got my long weekend all planned out. It revolves around long luxurious soaks in the tub (I've only got a shower in the flat, and I miss having a bath now and then!), a good book (Tom Holland's Persian Fire, which I'm really enjoying) and lots and lots of DVDs. I'm a third of the way through a re-watch of Rome season one, and will take plenty of others with me, so I can pick and choose a bit. I will be surrounded by all my Easter chocolate, and the Calico cat will spend the entire long weekend asleep on my lap, twitching now and then as she dreams about disemboweling pigeons. What more could I possibly need? *G*
Don't go back to work till Wednesday now. Bliss.
