woe unto the PC yet again
Feb. 22nd, 2007 11:06 amMeh. My home PC monitor died a tragic death last night. I turned it on and it went PING and that was that. Extreme deadness. Just what I need. But still, it was very, very old - I mean, I've had it for years, and it was already elderly and second hand when I got it. So it has served me well, but now I need to get myself a new one or remain computer-less.
Boss has offered to run me down to Currys, or PC World, or someplace like that at lunchtime to pick up a replacement. Boss is very good at being generous with stuff like that, when she's around. It's actually being around that she isn't so good at. And I'm only too glad to accept, since my Dad is away this week and can't help out, and home deliveries can take days, plus keep you hanging around waiting for the delivery to actually turn up. I don't need anything fancy, just a bog standard monitor will do. Of course, researching online simply presents me with so much gobbledygook - all those technical terms and abbreviations mean nothing to me. I'll have to play it by ear when we get to the store and take advice, and then probably judge by pricetag.
So, a large portion of my birthday cash stash will be blown on a new computer monitor. I'd asked for cash because I want new glasses - the ones I've got are old and scratched, and it's high time I actually had another eye test and invested in a new pair. Hopefully I've got enough to pay for both!
