(no subject)

So this morning Small phones to say that my cat Calico has disappeared while we were away. Now, she does occasionally wander off for a few days at a time, and wouldn't have appreciated being left for a week, even with my uncle Nigel looking in now and then to make sure there was enough food and water and whatnot, but still. She is old - 17 - and although she's in pretty good health is increasingly scatty. Anything could have happened. The parents are ringing around vets and animal protection places, and Small has already made up a poster to put up around the streets if they can't find her.

My poor old girl. :(


Cheering myself up browsing the new episode stills at Supernatural Media for the forthcoming first episode of the new season. Spoilery, but very pretty. And lostt1 has posted a clip of the new season promo on her journal - it's a fab advert. Way to set the pulse racing. Really can't wait for the new season now! Roll on 28th Sept and the downloading frenzy to follow!

Phew!

The Calico cat has turned up, thank goodness. Turns out a couple down the road had taken her to the vet last Thursday because she was fussing around their car and wouldn't move for them to move the car, and was making her usual cracking noise at them so they thought she was ill. We are forever explaining to people that that's just the noise she always makes, that she can't actually miaow properly. So anyway, the vet told them she has a heart murmur, kept her overnight and gave her a couple of injections, and told them to keep her indoors for a while, so they've had her in their shed while they tried to find out who she belonged to, since she is clearly well cared for and well loved. So she is back home now. Huge relief. :)
