Some people - some families - get no luck at all.

I posted at the weekend that I was concerned about my friend Molly, as I hadn't heard from her in a while. I managed to get hold of her in the end, and went around there last night to catch up. As a family, they just seem to have one thing after another going wrong for them.

Moll had to stay with her sister longer than she's anticipated as B is going through a pretty hard time at the moment. Her son Nicky is a drug addict; she'd thought, hoped that he was getting himself back on track again - but then he broke into an elderly couple's house and is now back in jail again. This is just the latest in a long, long history of incidents like this and B has disowned him, absolutely at the end of her tether, but is devastated. So Moll had to try to comfort her, or at least just be there for her, because there is no comfort for something like that, as a mother.

Then she got home and learned that her daughter-in-law Kerry has found a lump in her breast. Having had breast cancer herself, she went straight into panic-mode and insisted on paying privately for a consultation to hurry things along. That was yesterday, results will be back next week. Worrying time. Kerry and Steve have three young sons - a 12 year old, and 11 year old twins.

On the bright side, though, Jason's little boy Joseph is doing well at the moment. It is now almost 12 months since his leukaemia was diagnosed. This week they had another big donation from a local business to Joseph's fund raising money for the Children's Hospital.

Driving lesson today...

Mr Instructor just gave away practically the entire plot for the Doctor Who finale this week. Boom, bang, crash, and my lips are sealed, teehee.

Sounds like the technical people had a lot of fun filming this one!

Bold all of the following TV shows which you've ever seen 3 or more episodes of in your lifetime.
Italicize a show if you're positive you've seen every episode of it.
If you want, add up to 3 additional shows (keep the list in alphabetical order).

Not sure I should admit to some of these - there's some on the list from my childhood, and others I've been forced to sit through thanks to having a baby sister...!

List under the cut )

Whoa. Turns out I've watched a lot of TV in my time. But not as much as some people!

Also turns out my TV viewing experience has been...eclectic, shall we say!

Just for the sake of it, I made myself a new banner, blending together caps from that beautiful slow panning shot of Dean asleep in bed in Phantom Traveller into one image.

GUH!

Oh, and in Other News, my cousin Rhian and her husband are expecting their first child in January. That will be next year's baby taken care of. There was bound to be one - in the last ten years there have been 13 babies in our family! And no sign of the breeding frenzy slowing down, either...

Because I clearly haven't posted enough already for one day, some more links to pretty pretty pictures of Argentine footballers - including some very lovely shots of Crespo - snagged from

And my Life on Mars re-watch continues, and I remember all the reasons I fell in love with the show. Sam and Gene are a fab double act. Episode five tonight, and Sam finally gets the 1973 arresting spiel right for the first time! *G*
