Jun. 21st, 2006 01:30 pmSpoke to Mum about Small's assessment on Monday.
They say she doesn't have foetal alcohol syndrome, but definitely does have some degree of learning disability caused by her mother's drug taking during pregnancy. Well, we pretty much knew that anyway, but it's confirmed now. They also said she definitely needs to be seen by an educational psychologist but the chances of that seem remote given that each school is only allotted so much time with the EP and has to prioritise, and Small's clearly doesn't prioritise her. She has to have a whole load more reports and assessments done, and has to go back to the Speech Therapist, not for an assessment related to the cleft palate but with regard to the question mark they have over semantic-pragmatic disorder.
Poor old girl. She desperately needs this sorting out before she goes to High School.
And on top of all that, she got smacked in the nose by a football on Monday, just before going to the hospital for her assessment. They don't think it's broken, but it is very swollen and clicky - and she already had problems with her nose because that was one of the places her bastard father hit her when she was only a few months old.
My poor girl. She needs lots of love and hugs.
