Spoke to Mum about Small's assessment on Monday.

They say she doesn't have foetal alcohol syndrome, but definitely does have some degree of learning disability caused by her mother's drug taking during pregnancy. Well, we pretty much knew that anyway, but it's confirmed now. They also said she definitely needs to be seen by an educational psychologist but the chances of that seem remote given that each school is only allotted so much time with the EP and has to prioritise, and Small's clearly doesn't prioritise her. She has to have a whole load more reports and assessments done, and has to go back to the Speech Therapist, not for an assessment related to the cleft palate but with regard to the question mark they have over semantic-pragmatic disorder.

Poor old girl. She desperately needs this sorting out before she goes to High School.

And on top of all that, she got smacked in the nose by a football on Monday, just before going to the hospital for her assessment. They don't think it's broken, but it is very swollen and clicky - and she already had problems with her nose because that was one of the places her bastard father hit her when she was only a few months old.

My poor girl. She needs lots of love and hugs.

Well, hooray for an awake Pros!Muse, and for dashing off a ficlet in a day - The Fall Guy is now complete and available for reading.

It's only a couple of pages as an episode tag to the ep I just reviewed, Fall Girl, which ended on such a downbeat note, with Bodie feeling hurt and angry and betrayed by just about everyone - I wanted to have a quick peek at how he and Doyle might have started to move past everything that had happened and repair their close working relationship. This is Doyle's thought process in a very quick scene leading up to the first move being made.

And, in other news, I finally got around to buying a new watch after living time-less all week since the old one gave up the ghost. Felt weird being without it. Also bought myself a new pair of earrings, since I still haven't replaced all the ones that got pinched in my burglery, and celebrated payday by ordering the Life on Mars DVD set from amazon :)

Argentina play Holland tonight in their final group match of the World Cup, but Crespo probably won't play - he'll be rested, since they've already qualified for the next phase.
