Oct. 11th, 2005 08:57 amHave given in and bought chocolate to get me started this morning. And if ever there was an appropriate place to put a 'rolleyes' smilie, that was it!
This is a busy week. Yesterday we had our South Wales Organisers' Meeting, and it was good - the buffet lunch laid on afterward was superb. But having to work a room full of volunteers, all aged 55+, can be draining. I love them all to bits, but a roomful tends to be rather intense, having to find time and concentration to give every one a bit of individual attention. And as a result of that I had to put my driving lesson back to today, which eats up another lunch hour after not having a proper break yesterday.
Last night was also kiddie club night. This meant rushing out straight from work to chaperone the little darlings into the minibus, fitting in a cup of tea at my mum's for half an hour or so, before heading out once more to take them all home again.
but although I moan about it for the entire six months club runs, I shouldn't complain too much, because I do genuinely like all the kids we've got at the moment. The average age is about six, and they're all little cuties. It is fun watching them grow up - some of the older children, the 8-10 year olds, have been coming since they were about three or four - and were waiting to come from much earlier, if they had older siblings who came before them.
So - Monday nights always busy, from October till Easter!
Today, driving lesson. Plus, in work I'm in the midst of my quarterly newsletter run, which is always hugely time consuming, not to mention laborious. And we're also in the throes of organising an exhibition for Make a Difference Day, the bulk of the responsibility seeming to land on my shoulders. Nothing too onerous, but it is very complex and fiddly, trying to sort all the fine details out.
Tonight I might have free, unless I end up going to Moll's for the evening. Tomorrow night I'm taking Chelsea to the football, and sleeping over at my mum's. Then on Thursday I'm meeting Heather after work. Saturday going to see Serenity with my brother in the day, and then going to see A Man For All Seasons at the New Theatre in the evening.
Maybe next week will be a little quieter...
