I don't think I shall ever enjoy driving.

Today we went around St Paul's again a few times, but Mr Instructor also made me go into real traffic more than I ever have before. Scary stuff.

He made up for it, though, by talking Doctor Who. Apparently he almost had to cancel the lesson today because he's on call to help repair the Tardis where a panel was damaged when Rose kicked it in the finale (only once on-screen but the scene apparently took about 8/9!). He also said that they're starting work on the new series sometime in July, but isn't sure he wants to carry on doing it. And he has to go up to London with his bag of tricks at the end of the week for some award thing they're filming (Baftas? National Television Awards?) as the Daleks are wanted for that, but he said that of the three they made only two currently work. All fascinating to hear about!

Not my best driving lesson ever (well, 'twas only #4) but I think the rain made me nervous, not to mention knowing that there had been two bad accidents in the city this morning. Also, it hadn't been my best morning ever already - no sooner had I arrived in work than Das Boss appeared and asked me to help her set up to deliver a workshop at the Older Person's Congress in City Hall, promising faithfully to drop me back to the office by 10.30am. Yeah, right. There'd been these two accidents, and the roads were gridlocked. Took us forever to get there, half the stuff she'd asked for (Powerpoint) wasn't set up, so getting ready was a nightmare. By the time everything was sorted it was almost 11.00 so I had to walk back to the office. I had nothing with me - no bag, no coat, so was very thankful that it didn't rain till I got back. Walked it in less than half the time it had taken driving, the traffic had been that bad. But just about the entire morning was completely wasted, so the last thing I wanted to do was go straight out for a driving lesson. ah well. At least I was paid for the waste of time.
