Long day. Stupid lurgy still not gone. Need sleep.
We had our Sunday School nativity play this evening. The kids were brilliant. They looked gorgeous and behaved beautifully. I feel all festive now. Tired, but festive.
However, it is always rather a bad moment when one of the little ones comes and cwtches in your lap and you look down and see that they are absolutely crawling with headlice... Ick.
Also today, I went to the hospital to visit my aunt, who has managed to develop pneumonia for about the 5th time. She looked better than I expected - better than she did last time I saw her, in fact, when she'd just had a nasty fall and looked quite shaken and run down. Whatever they are doing for her is working, clearly.
It seems to be the weekend for hospitals, as my Big Sis spent yesterday morning in A&E. One of the autistic children she teaches had hammered on her arm and it swelled up like a balloon. It isn't broken, but apparently she's got a built-up of fluid between the muscle and bone, which doesn't sound too pleasant. The doctor signed her off sick for a couple of days, but hopefully she'll still be okay too drive down for Christmas. If not, Brother-in-Law will just have to handle driving duties!

The cold is actually a lot better than it has been, and no doubt not working over the next few weeks before New Job starts will help with the final kicking of it. It's just not gone yet, annoyingly enough.

There's something about the current lurgy that's just refusing to go away. I'm still snuffly and croaky; himself is ditto; the children are coughing... everyone in the area seems to have gone down with it or has a close family member who has. Ghastly thing. GWS, and GWS wishes to your sister and aunt.
Have you had your contract or anything 'concrete' through yet from your new employers?

concerned(confirmed, even). I had two calls then the next day to say that the contract will be with me next week (hopefully early, but it depends on the vagaries of the Christmas post) and they are still working on a Jan 5 start date. So I just have to be really frugal until then. :-)This lurgy is horrible. I'm feeling a lot better this week, but the cough won't go away, and as soon as I step out into the cold air I start streaming again. So many people have got it, and it just never goes away! Stupid virus. GWS to you and yours, too.

You'd think the cold air would kill the lurgy... but it doesn't :(
