madness

Someone just phoned my house, thinking they had the number of a solicitor's office. Man, I should have played along and charged him fifty quid just for taking the call!

I have a stye in my eye. It itches. Also? I have learned that I am completely useless at getting eye drops to actually go in my eye.

Small has apparently come down with some kind of terrible lurgy. Great. She stayed with me over the weekend, slept in my bed because she never stays in her own. I'd better stock up on the vitamin C...

Sending Dr K over to put your drops in.

For some reason we seem to open our mouths when doing this procedure. Well, Dood and I do :)

So true. I don't often wear it, but I have to open my mouth when applying mascara!

[identity profile] llywela13.livejournal.com 2008-09-30 12:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Heee. Clearly, the eye and the mouth are connected!

It has been decades since I wore mascara ... your comment made me think back, and yes, you are right.

Madness. It's all madness.

Dood decided to run to the car yesterday as it had started to rain ... just as he got to the car he slipped and in less than a blink he was on his back ... I have put in a call for Dr Christine Fletcher to come and attend to him.

Wow, definitely. You can make loads of money with fake legal advice. Or so I hear.

Eye drops are impossible. I hope you don't end up with the terrible lurgy. :(

[identity profile] llywela13.livejournal.com 2008-09-30 12:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Damn, I really missed a trick there!

[identity profile] bagpuss1966.livejournal.com 2008-09-30 11:57 am (UTC)(link)
*Hugs*

I hope you don't catch lurgy.

Cheers - me too! Apparently, the kids in her school are dropping like flies, and she was definitely already sickening over the weekend. She was very low maintenance, which is never a good sign!

[identity profile] jayres.livejournal.com 2008-09-30 12:02 pm (UTC)(link)
I hope you don't catch the lurgy and that the stye says bye bye very soon. Good luck with the eye drops!

[identity profile] llywela13.livejournal.com 2008-09-30 12:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Cheers! Me too!

Stand in front of mirror. Gently pull down lower lid. Apply dropper. Blink.

Styes are nasty. One way of getting rid is to apply a cotton wool ball moistened by hot water (as hot as you can possibly bear), and squeeze. If even only a little bit of pus escapes it releases the pressure and then it won't hurt as much.

Sorry to hear about Small's lurgy - keep it down your end of town, will you please? Unless you'd like to swap for some apparently insecticide-resistant headlice?

[identity profile] llywela13.livejournal.com 2008-10-01 07:26 am (UTC)(link)
Luckily, I managed to catch the stye nice and early, so it never got really big...so clearly some of the drops must have been going where they were meant to!

And, um, I think you can keep your super headlice, thanks all the same. And we'll keep our flu bug. *G*

[identity profile] femsc.livejournal.com 2008-10-01 12:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, if you're sure...

*Goes to fetch nit comb*

Oo, poor you. Nothing like a stye to make you day/week.

A is the same way with eye drops. He can't do them himself. I has to lay down with his eyes closed and then I have to sit there and sneak attack his face by pulling open his eyelid and squeezing the drops in REALLY quick before his body knows what's happening. Needless to say, his entire face usually ends up wet. *feels your pain*

I hope you don't get ill. Drink milk with your vit. C; it helps your body absorb it.

Eye drops are just a nuisance. But necessary, at times, alas. And seem to be working, so clearly at least some of them must be hitting the target!

[identity profile] kelzies.livejournal.com 2008-09-30 11:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Ouch, stye. Hope it clears up soon *hugs* I'm useless when it comes to eye drops too. I tend to put it in the corner of my eye then turn my head and blink rapidly. Even then it's a struggle.

Hope you don't catch the lurgy *hugs*

[identity profile] llywela13.livejournal.com 2008-10-01 07:27 am (UTC)(link)
Cheers, Kel - the drops seem to be working, and I caught it nice and early, so just itchy and sore rather than really painful.
