Why is LJ not notifying me of upcoming friends birthdays any more? It just says that there aren't any, but usually lists 'em even if they're a ways off. Weird. So, if I'm missing any, apologies and blame LJ.

Bionic Woman is up to episode three now, and I still don't know what to make of it. Bad writing, bad plotting, bad pacing, but underneath all that there is potential. Even if it's only the potential to be so bad it's hilarious. I'm not sure they really know what they want to be, which doesn't help. They do manage some genuine laugh-out-loud moments, mind. Although I'm not always sure I'm meant to be laughing. It's weird, watching a show from the very beginning so that you don't know if it'll be worth the effort in the long run or not.

Or is it just the huh-factor of seeing a girl from Eastenders headlining on a US drama that does it?

Not sure. I'm interested in Sarah's story, though. And I kinda like Jae. So that's two reasons to keep watching and see what happens.

Also watched the pilot episode of Pushing Daisies last night, having heard good things about it. Discovered yet another UK soap actress in it, Anna Friel this time. What is it about UK soap actresses and US dramas these days?

The show itself? Kinda delightful, in a weird and quirky kind of way. It reminded me of The Cat In The Hat - the film, not the book. Same narrative style. Heck, sounded like the same narrator, even. Lots of fun. Might be a bit too cutesy for my taste long-term, but worth watching, that's for definite.

Heroes is up to episode 14 of season one now, and picking up pace all the time, the stories of the various 'heroes' interweaving in intricate and fascinating fashion. Except for Niki - her storyline really doesn't seem to be doing any more than going in circles, and has remained that way for quite some time now. It does look like she might finally be breaking out of her rut at long last now, though. Full steam ahead to the end of the season, with any luck!

Had intended to say more, but brain is tapioca today, for no good reason whatsoever. Roll on the weekend.

The film version of The Cat in the Hat freaked me out no end!

I don't know about the notification thing. I've just worked out that I can get LJ to email me about forthcoming birthdays (is that what you mean?) so I've ticked the box.

I still get birthday notifications if I type www.livejournal.com into the address bar when I'm logged in - the next five are showing because I just checked.

Hmm.

*tries that*

You're right. I'm used to checking in the 'my LJ' page, and there it isn't giving me any. So weird.

*sigh* Technology sucks!

I can't even see a 'my LJ' page! *blushes*

I wish there was a better system, tbh. I don't often just type in the url because I've got a bookmark I use!

AHH I am glad you enjoyed Pushing Daisies! ♥ Like everything it's a matter of how things develop. They definitely border on the edge of sugary, but the underlying irony keeps it at bay so far. I am looking forward to the rest of the season at the moment! :D
