TV changes

Hmm. So, ntl have been taken over by Virgin, and with this takeover comes many changes. Such as...Sky throwing a hissy fit and demanding extra money for their channels and then withdrawing those channels when negotiations didn't go well. I'm not watching any shows on Sky1 at the moment, so this doesn't really affect me. But bummer for those that do! But, on the bright side, Virgin are making a lot more shows available as part of the old 'on demand' service. Including Supernatural season one, Nip/Tuck season one, old series' of Cold Case, Dalziel and Pascoe, Hustle, the Pride and Prejudice mini series, and all kinds of other stuff I haven't explored yet. Fantastic. I shall never be able to complain of having nothing to watch ever again.

Wow, that's always good! That's my constant complaint, or was until I found youtube.

I've heard a bit about this. Apparently Sky promptly put the price up when Virgin took over so Richard Branson refused to carry Sky One. Good on him. Bummer from the consumer point of view, but Sky shouldn't have acted so greedily. Hopefully they will change their minds.

Yeah, as an ntl/virgin customer, I've had an email from Richard Branson bemoaning Sky's greediness and refusal to negotiate. We'll have to see how it all pans out.

I have to say, I think the Virgin move might be an interesting one. I didn't have much experience with NTL but I've had several Virgin multimedia products over the years and they've always been fantastic, so if Branson can put the unique Virgin stamp on the existing NTL framework, despite Sky's barrier building, you could come off very well indeed...

Yeah, it could be interesting. Heck, if they manage to only be a tiny bit more communicative than ntl ever were I'll be happy!
