madness

My sister wrote to me, as she told me she was going to, to ask me officially about providing this family member reference for the adoption.

Turns out, I have to write to the adoption agency to give my permission for them to contact me to ask for the reference. Seems a tremendously long-winded way of doing things! So, I've been composing this letter. "I understand that a reference is required for my sister's adoption application. Please do feel free to ask me to provide this reference..."

Madness. But the letter goes in the post today - don't want to waste any time!

If it wasn't such a pain in the arse, that would be hilarious! I had a similar thing with my bank and the council recently...the ways they send you in circles, usually in some way "for your own good", is ludicrous. Data protection act? My arse. I'd rather be spied on than spend four hours talking to a call centre!
