For Dana, because she asked to see them, these are the two skirts I bought yesterday.

I'm wearing the first one, the Clubhouse one, today. There's nothing like a swishy summer skirt to make you feel really feminine!

They are both lovely. :)

Swishy ~ that's precisely the word!

Many years ago, Ray Bradbury wrote a marvelous story about the way the first pair of tennis shoes of the summer made his young protagonist feel as though he could run forever, jump higher, climb mountains, outrun the wind if need be.

I think one's summer sandals and swishy skirts serve the same function for many of the female persuasion ~ somewhere there's a showing-off photo of my aged self, as the tender age of 12 or so, posed on our front steps in new peasant blouse, widespread print skirt and brand new shoes, shyly SO pleased with my new feathers!

Of course my mother found it needful to warn me not to 'show off' or 'preen' in front of the guests ~ we were attempting to run a western Dude Ranch setup at that time of our lives ~ so I felt severely 'put down' in public. Still, she kept the pictures....

Funny how vivid some memories remain, even after nearly 50+ years!

Aww, cute skirts!! I really like the first one. I'm not a skirt girl, usually love to wear pants.
