"We don't always get what we want."

Yesterday? Very mixed day. It started with a very, very, very frustratingly late torrent, followed by the Supernatural season finale spoiler ) And ended in a karaoke bar listening to a lot of very, very bad singing.

See, I had a leaving do last night, for the job I finished a month ago! Not bad going, huh? The lunch I had on my last day was for staff and volunteers, and the like. But last night? That was for me and the girls, who all work (or worked, since two of them left before I did) on an affiliated project. It has only taken us a month to find a date we could all make! Speeches, balloons, pressies – the works. Oh! And remember how just the other day I was sighing about how being unemployed is kind of heavy on teabags? Hee. They gave me a big box of teabags as one of the pressies. Mwah. Much more practical than the actual potty we gave Potty when she left! So anyway, a blast was had, and it was all good.

Oh, but the finale of Supernatural, man. Stream of Consciousness beneath cut )

still can't believe it

Cardiff City play in the final of the FA Cup this afternoon. It still doesn't seem real - underdogs extraordinaire!

GO BLUEBIRDS!!

well done, lads

Cardiff City didn't manage to win the FA Cup this afternoon, losing 0-1 to Portsmouth in the end, but huge congratulations to them anyway for getting so far. And I can't bring myself to begrudge Harry Redknapp the win.

In other news, my Mum has been awarded disability living allowance for Small, at the highest level, too. Wahey! It has only taken me about three years to persuade her to apply, but she's the kind who never asks for anything, just trudges on alone and does the best she can no matter how hard. It isn't a huge amount of money, but it will make a big difference, so we're really pleased.

While Poppy was playing out the back this afternoon, I opened the kitchen window, stuck my head out, and called her. She completely spazzed out trying to work out how I'd got up there and whether she could get to me. It was hilarious.
