Okay. So. Today I am running inductions for two new project workers, who are based out in the field - Pembrokeshire and Blaenau Gwent.

I have no procedure for this; it's not a part of my job description. I was just told 'they are coming in today to spend some time with you in the office.' Exactly what I'm supposed to do with them is unclear.

I'll make it up as I go along. I generally do. Seemed to work for the new staff I've inducted in the past. And we'll all get a lunch out out of the deal...

Have been attempting a bit of Life on Mars art recently, since my DVD set arrived and I've been reminding myself why I love this show so much.

Poor bewildered Sam, spending the entire season trying not to have a total meltdown. And Gene! Gotta love Gene.

Anyway, here's a few pieces - none of them brilliant, but the experimentation process has been interesting.


You are surrounded by Armed Bastards!

Because I love that quote by Gene in episode two! And for no better reason than that.

And then two walls featuring the creepy Test Card girl freaking Sam out.

Your Only Friend

This shows the first time the Test Card girl appears to Sam in the second episode. Sam already thinks he's going mad, and now the test card girl comes out of the television and starts speaking to him...

Sleep Forever

This is taken from episode three, when Sam is trying so hard to keep fighting, but feels it is a losing battle - and the Test Card girl really doesn't help.
"Give up. Lie down. Close your eyes. And sleep. Sleep forever..."


Next, I might have a go at that moment when Gene and Sam lock a murder suspect in a giant fridge...

Oh, my ears and whiskers! That was amazing. Germany and Italy just showed us how 118 minutes of 0-0 draw can be completely absorbing and enthralling and beautiful.

And then two fabulous goals in the last two minutes. I remember all the reasons I love Italian football so much. I want Serie A back on my TV on a channel I can actually watch.

But I wanted to give Jurgen Klinsmann a hug at the end as he walked around consoling his players.
