We don't follow the programme as closely as you but have seen every episode, and agree that since Moffat took over things have been extremely disconnected and confusing - so much so that sometimes I just watch and no longer try to follow the plot.
We found the Time of the Doctor disappointing, even without being as invested in the whole thing as you are.
