Bugger, damn and blast, Haddon's funeral looks like it is the same day at our Winter Event in work, which I am organising and have to be at, except that I absolutely have to be at the funeral, as well, I can't not be there for Haddon and for Joan.

I've known Haddon my entire life. My Mum has known him her entire life. He trained my Dad at technical college. He used to go tracting with my grandmother and her siblings when they were all teenagers together. He was an integral part of our chapel community - our chapel family - and had been for the better part of 70 years. I still can't quite believe he is gone. :(

The stupid thing is that although we have a lot of extremely elderly members of our assembly at the chapel, they don't actually die very often, so it always comes as a terrible shock when one of them passes away.

Funeral is 12.30pm. Event starts at 5pm. I can do both. I just hope Boss understands.

That timing really sucks. I'm so sorry to hear about your loss too. I hope your boss is understanding and helpful.

Thanks, Ros. I know, I'm sure she will be absolutely fine about it, I just really didn't want to have to compromise on either - both deserve my full attention and neither will now get it.

Ah well. What is, is.
