In other news, this is the fourth day in a row that I have been completely unable to speak. Perhaps I should start to entertain the possibility that this might actually be a throat infection, rather than just a cold?

I'm not sure going out in the freezing temperatures last night was the best thing for my cold, mind, but I'm glad I went. It was a fab concert - the singing was fantastic and I had an amazing seat, right at the front, best view in the house (took with me a friend who neither speaks a word of Welsh nor even has a television, so I'm not sure quite what she made of it all, but she loved the singing, at least!). It was also my first experience of being stageside at a live television broadcast, which was rather fascinating!
The concert turned out rather more dramatic than anticipated, however, when one of the choristers collapsed in the middle of a performance! Cue a hasty cut to commercials (although not until the song was over) while she received medical treatment and revived enough to walk off the stage. I sincerely hope that she is fully recovered now.
Overall, a highly entertaining evening - and best of all, the tickets were free!
Now, if only I could shake this cold and regain my voice, I will be completely happy...

The lady who collapsed was very worrying. I didn't see her go down (in spite of the fact that she was right in front of me), so the first I noticed was when one of the other girls ran off the stage, which startled me rather until I realised why! When she didn't seem to be coming around quickly, I did worry that it might have been a heart attack, but couldn't see much of what was going on as there were so many people crowding around her by that time. It was a huge relief when she got up and walked off the stage! Then there was both an emergency response ambulance and regular ambulance outside the theatre when I left, but hope that was merely a precaution (they did say there was a paramedic in attendance) rather than an indication of anything more serious.
This cold is lousy, hit full force yesterday after teasing me with the voicelessness for several days, so I think I shall take a day off work today and stay in the warm!

I'll post about the day in a bit. I was out on Sunday as well, so time hasn't yet been on my side.

I suppose now you'll all be left with a great big choir-shaped hole in your lives, if the choirs were only formed for the duration of the show.
