Also, the way he handles Sam...It's kind of a silent criticism towards John, that I am not sure he's even aware of. :) Scarecrow and Something Wicked being the biggest examples of Dean taking a very different approach than John would have, whether consciously or subconsciously acknowledging his father's flaws. I'm pretty sure we've talked about this before. There isn't much about this show that we haven't covered in depth! *hug*
I have no problem with the MOTW here. *shrugs* It isn't the most dynamic, sure - they were still feeling their way into it, and this was where they learned that straight out monsters requiring prosthetics didn't work so well. But I like the way they worked around that problem, but having the wendigo off-screen almost the entire time, letting snatched glimpses and fear do all the work for them. And the plot is decent enough. I've always liked it more than most people seem to.
