Coming back to you a bit late, I'm afraid, I have been very interested to observe how some real-life Judges appear, over the last couple of days, to have been quite deliberately dumping the Home Sec in the you know what, by their sentencing because he tried to influence their sentencing options with the infamous letter. Others have simply said outright that they will not be influenced by politicians in such matters and that they regard his letter as an interference in their independence. Deep offence caused, anyway, which sort of chimes in with what I was thinking after the final ep.
