So, my mum phones me while I'm working on my last entry to tell me that my uncle Stan has got terminal cancer.
Apparently they used the little get-together today as an opportunity to tell those members of the family that were there, so that they could then spread the word to the rest of the clan. Which is now being done.
Prostate, discovered late, already spread to the bone. With treatment he could last five years. Could. Except that with treatment he already looks pretty bad, according to Deb. And Ruth isn't handling it, can't talk about it at all, which is why they've waited till they had a few people face to face to let the family know rather than phoning around.
Damn.

I keep worrying about my uncle and aunt now. And their boys - their middle son lives in Japan with his family. If Stan goes downhill, I'm not sure they can afford to come over to visit anytime quickly :(

When I get on my [mental] running prayer wheel, I'll add the names of 'Jo's Uncle Stan and Auntie Ruth' to the others I send hope and energy to. I wish I could do something more substantial, but I also send lots of hugs and comfort abroad to the whole family.
