So. Yesterday lunchtime I took a parcel to post from work. Nothing unusual about this, and I often go to the little Post Office on Penarth Road; it's the closest and therefore the quickest. Yesterday, however, I needed to go to the bank as well, so went the other way, up into the city centre, and used the bigger Post Office there. On my way back to the office, I saw a load of police cars and vans zooming down Penarth Road at speed, lights flashing, sirens blaring.

It turned out this had happened - an armed raid on the little Post Office on Penarth Road. If I'd gone to that one instead of into town I'd have been there when it happened!

Kinda makes you think about timing, and sheer luck, no?

Hehehe. Cardiff has always had it's share of crime - it is, after all, the biggest city in Wales (with its meagre population of about 300,000...) I think when incidents like this happen, we tend to take more notice of them because it is so unusual. This was a wee bit too close to home (or work) for my liking!
