exhibition over
So, after all the angst and headaches that went into the preparation of it, that darn Creative Wales exhibition we were putting on in work is over at last.
'Twas a very long day! After fretting for the longest time that we wouldn't get enough entries, on the day it turned out exactly right - just enough to fill the space comfortably. Phew. Most of the entries were of a high standard, as well - we had some really gorgeous stuff in all categories, from knitted clothes and toys to paintings, photography and 3-D Media (which basically meant anything that didn't fit into any other category).
Only slight hiccup was that a couple of the entries that had been couriered down from Anglesey were broken in transit, which caused a bit of a headache. Luckily the major item, a china rooster someone had made (which is awesome) was easily fixed, but the glass picture frames not so much. *sigh* Still, that was the only thing that went wrong all day.
We had Chris Needs MBE presenting certificates to the prize winners in each category, who will now go on to the main event in London in September. Congratulations to them all!
Here are a few pics of the day, although they really don't do justice to the work that was entered.
Small and some knitted toys

3-D Media - there is the rooster that broke in transit. You can't tell!

All in all, after all the worry that went into the rather disjointed organisation of it, the day was a big success - all the volunteers who attended had a marvellous time, and were delighted with their certificates. Phew!
Ended the day with the most appalling headache that had intensified to become a full-blown migraine by early evening, which wasn't so good and kept me awake half the night. So today I've been pretty wiped out, but at least I had the morning out of the office - went in Boss's place to the Bay again, to see the Queen arrive to open the Senedd for the new session, but I'll post about that separately.
